Aydin Monem

Aydin Monem is an Iranian harpsichordist. He completed his bachelor’s degree in piano under the tutelage of Raphael Minaskaninan. During these years, his love of Baroque music developed. Aydin’s passion for early music led him to travel to Great Britain to pursue a master’s degree in harpsichord at the Royal Welsh College of Music. In the UK, he studied under the supervision of Andrew Wilson-Dickson and Gary Cooper, where he also benefited from the master classes of renowned musicians such as Christopher Hogwood, Rachel Podger, and Mahan Esfahani.

Back in Iran, together with young musicians interested in Baroque music, he formed Iran’s only early music ensemble (Tehran Baroque Music Atelier) and gave several concerts in Tehran and other cities in Iran. Meanwhile, Aydin taught Baroque music performance practice at the University of Tehran.

Since 2019, Aydin has been pursuing his doctorate in harpsichord at Université Laval under the direction of Richard Paré. He is currently studying French baroque dances and their impact on the harpsichord repertoire.
